Nice place to relax
I visited Cumberland Memorial Garden today and was greeted by a very polite woman at the front desk. That pleasant experience did not last long, Shelia Boi then came into room where they had seated my mother and myself she started telling us that everything was paid for except the opening and closing cost. I explained to her that we were there to get information to sell the plots bought many years ago. We had been there to visit and purchase more plots to bury my brother 5 months prior, we were so appalled by the presentation of the grounds, full of weeds, tractors everywhere, clay with beyond sunken grounds. We knew then that this was not the place that we would be laying our family to rest. Luckily for us we found somewhere else that could properly maintain their grounds. Shelia Boi was clearly not happy that we did not want to use her property anymore, we could hear her in the hallways saying how unpleased we were with their "garden" she came back into the room and handed my mom an envelope and was rushing us out of the room, I was looking over the paperwork to make sure that I had everything. She opened the front door as if she were telling us we needed to leave. I told her I needed the prices at their current rates, she said no. I asked no to what, giving me the rates? She proceeded to tell me no, I asked if she was kicking me out, she gets a sticky note from the still pleasant woman at the front, Shelia writes down one number which I tell her they have more than one thing and I know that's not all. She sighed and writes down another, at this point I gave up and told her to have a nice day and walked out. She not only didn't give me the prices for everything needed, she also didn't give me all of the proper paperwork. I could not believe how confrontational she was, I've worked in customer service for 12 years I've never seen anyone carry them selves this poorly, if I could have given no stars I would have.
Totally blown away by how unprofessional Sheila Buie, general sales manager is. Recently had an issue and she was very confrontational and told numerous lies. If you are looking to purchase a plot you may want to check elsewhere where you will be treated better. If you do buy here do some research as they sell plots that already have been purchased and belong to someone else.
There is an unethical and dishonest employee here who deserves to be exposed. Her actions and words were appalling and disrespectful. Treat unto others as you would want to be treated and the world would be a much better place. Folks, the best advice I can give you is to please choose another memorial garden for your dear loved one and save yourself unnecessary frustration. The grieving process of losing a loved one in itself is enough.
