Been with them since around 2001 so about 16 years. Our first malfunction ever reported to them in 16 years. We have paid about $53.00 every three months for 16 years so you can do the math. We had a motion detector go out on us a few weeks ago. My wife and I troubleshot it down to a faulty detector by ensuring the bypass was not on and pointing out the indicator light for the motion detector was on all the time which it should not be. So, anyway just to comfort us on our troubleshooting skills my wife called Gills and told them about what the detector was doing and what and how we determined that we believe it to be a faulty motion detector. So, we were transferred to a technician. He picked up asked a few questions which we answered all and then he said that it would be a $75.00 service call that was just to come from Fayetteville to Spring Lake! This price did not include him troubleshooting the motion detector to determine if faulty or not, nor did this include the price of getting a new detector or changing it out if required these would be additional charges. I got on ebay ran the part # off the old detector got a new one from California for $9.99 and free shipping! It arrived in three days or so, I installed it which was only two screws an four small wires (took a pic with my phone before I took the wires off the old detector so I would know what order to put the wires back on new one) did so and bingo works like a champ. I did it all for $9.99! Just so you all know! I called them, told them all this and when I told her the price I paid on ebay and advised her to have them look and verify on ebay themselves all she could say was WOW! So she took my complaint and said she would run it up to the top...I haven't heard a peep from them since that has been two or more weeks now. In my book either someone (technician) is getting EXTREMELY over paid or overcharging is running wild there. I think if you are a seasoned customer, the $75.00 service call should be waived. For them to come here Spring Lake from Fayetteville we're talking 20-25 minutes... $75.00...really? So to say I am not happy about this incident is an understatement! I am NOT happy with them at all!!!!
I have been a loyal Gill Security customer for 10 year. Most recently Sam and Chris installed 8 cameras around my house and garage. They worked hard for 2 days getting it right. They were in the attic, under the house and everywhere running cable. And on the 3rd day they came out to make final adjustments on each camera. Sam set the entire system up including the APP for my smart phone. Prior to this I have continually received excellent service in each upgrade we have done including 4G, glass breakage, contacts for the garage doors, etc.
Spell's Mechanical has been a customer of Gill Security for over 10 years and we have always been very pleased with them. Recently, while having the carpet cleaned in the warehouse offices, steam from the vacuum set the fire alarm off. In a matter of minutes Gill's competent staff dispatched the fire department. Thankfully, nothing was on fire, but if there had been a fire, damage to our warehouse would have been minimized due to the diligence and quick response of Gill Security's team. We would definitely recommend Gill Security to anyone who wants to sleep peacefully at night knowing their home and business is being watched over and protected by such a caring company!
I have been a customer of Gill Security for over a decade and have always been please with them. I recently moved into a new home and it was such a great experience. The ladies in the office were extremely friendly and made sure that someone called me promptly to schedule an appointment. The salesman Will was also extremely pleasant and helpful throughout the whole process; he even came to my work so I could complete the paperwork and didn't have to take extra time out of my day. The installer Lance was also very knowledgeable, helpful, and efficient. I would definitely recommend Gill security to anyone who has home security needs!
