Our daughter started in the infant room and is now in the one year old room. The staff has been so great, accommodating and has made me feel secure about her being there. They know my daughter by name. The daycare has a neat newsletter each month, we get pictures of our daughter and a daily report sent to our email, and I love finding art work for me to take home in my daughter's cubby. We have had no questionable incidents but instead all around pleasant experiences and more than I expected. The only downfall has been my daughter being sick more often, but that would happen at any daycare.
I came across the website for Creative Schools. Their website impressed me and had many things I was looking for and even things I wasn't specifically looking for but was more of a bonus - accommodating to diet of choice, cameras set up and a portal for parents to view from, great security, college savings, and more.
I could not wish for a better daycare. Before ever becoming a mom and during pregnancy as well, I was highly against the idea of my daughter being in a daycare. I am very protective of who watches her and all the horror stories and news reports had me weary. Over time I became more open to looking into it as I wanted to work and go to school. My plans to have a nanny come to the house was not something we could afford. Still hesitant however, I researched as much as I could about daycares and researched the daycares in our city. I printed a long list of questions to ask the centers we visited.
Love this daycare. Teachers are very patient with the kids. My daughter loves going everyday!!
The first daycare I visited did not seem very clean, had little space and the director rushed me and seemed annoyed when I asked if I could sit and talk with her to go over my questions. The second seemed to have a high ratio of children in each classroom. I called a bunch of daycares and were not impressed. Aside from that, we follow a set of beliefs and do not consume animal products and byproducts. None of them I interviewed would accommodate that and required a doctor's report of an allergy.
I also must add that I absolutely adore the center director, Sandra Shaw. She is SO sweet, thoughtful, caring and has such a warm, friendly and GENUINE personality. She never comes off as irritated or annoyed when we meet with her for something. I have also witnessed her in classrooms socializing with the children and it is comforting to know someone in charge seems to enjoy their job and children.
I definitely recommend this daycare.
A few other things that I like is that we are able to provide my daughters meals, so long as we accommodate the nut-free facility. There are menus posted and sent to email/posted on the portal if you do not provide food. There is a daily schedule posted as well as what activities they are doing and what they are learning for each week. You can also supply your own wipes or participate in community wipes. There are many other perks but these are just a few.
