I am a forgiving person and figured I would give them one more try after a couple of months. This time I brought in two bags of clothing (kitchen size) around noon time. The lady that was helping was friendlier than others there. She said that they were swapped with a bunch of items that needed to be evaluated and that I was number 27. She said expect a call in a couple of hours to let me know that my items were processed and I did get that call after a few hours.
Doors were wide open. I was just running into to ask if they had a particular item. A worker yelled out that the store was closed even though several shoppers were still browsing? I literally just wanted to inquire about 1 thing. Won't be returning for when they are open.
I am astounded at the level of laziness I encountered today. I brought in a huge box of practically new clothes freshly washed, folded nicely, name brand and most of them were really only worn a couple of times. They would only buy about 5 items from the very top of the box and said the rest they had to pass on because they saw a hair on a clothing item. The hair type fuzz was a piece of lint from the dryer. She said she refused to look any further because of the possible chance there was some kind of animal and other people could be allergic to animals. Impossible! They went straight from the dryer, folded into the big box. They were just very busy that day and didn't feel like looking through the rest of the clothes. This is a fact because everything else was exactly the same way I folded it. They could have told me to come back another day when they weren't available to go through a big box. They lost out on some adorable and excellent clothing because of laziness. I will not be shopping or selling there again. Felt like a huge stab to go through that today. I have never left a bad review anywhere and Once Upon a Child in Fayetteville got it today. I wish I could post a picture of the mint condition clothing but it doesn't allow me to here.
This use to be a great place to do business. There are too many other options in this town to purchase children items. I will no longer support this establishment.
First, my mom had a horrible experience when she tried to return a couple of items. They were placed in the wrong location (size wise) in the store and was purchased thinking that they were accurate size for my boys. She had the receipt and was in the allotted time to return items but they refused to give her money back.
Secondly, I have also tried selling clothing to them twice in recent times and both encounters were a waste of my time. The first time I brought clothing into this location I had followed all of the requirements that they asked. On my part, this required rewashing items, sorting through, and selecting the desired brands. I had placed my items into huge yard bags and within an hour of me dropping them off, I received a phone call that they had been processed. They could not have sorted through all of those items and look through others within a hour of me dropping mine off. After all of the hassle I was offered $20.00 for several pieces and I was also met with attitude.
They claim to buy clothes & other baby items but I brought stuff in there with tags & stuff that was basically new & they didn’t even want it. Not to mention all they employees were rude. Never shopping there again.
When I came in to see what they had accepted the first thing I noticed was that my bags appeared to have not been processed at all. The sales associate then proceeds to say that that could not accept my items because of a storage smell! I informed her that my items were freshly laundered but if a smell was detected that they should have informed me about this before I left my items with them and drove across town to my home to only come back to them telling me they could not buy the stuff! My time and gas was wasted behind their lack of work ethic.
Since the birth of my twins Once Upon A Child, AT FIRST, WAS my first destination for many of my baby needs. Now I can not stand to go to the Fayetteville, NC location. The pass staff had amazing customer service but it seems that now that the store has switched new management everything has gone downhill. There use to be positive people with smiling faces that would go out of their way to ensure that your needs were met. Now when you come into this location you are guaranteed to get attitude from some of the employees. I have three personal experiences of how dishonest this business has become.
Once Upon A Nightmare!!!!
Now I see what everyone is talking about. I dropped off 5 khaki shorts and 5 blue polo shirts today. I filled out the top part of the paperwork like the lady said. She told me that I had until 700pm to come back when they call. Well that didn't happen. I received a call at 811 tonight tell me that I didn't respond in time so now I have store credit of 4.05. I called back and told the lady that this the first call I received. She tell me that someone called at 130 and my mailbox was full, but yet she left me a message at 811. Wow. You can keep that store credit. You must need it. A total ripe off.
