We used Glover for two new commercial buildings on Airport Road in Fayetteville NC and have been very pleased with his work. He delivered on time and on budget for us.
I’m giving 2 stars because he showed up whenever he said he would. However, I had a pipe bust under my house and he wouldn’t go under until all the water was pumped out. He came out twice and was a little irritated because of the expectation that he should still be able to fix it. The crawl space under my house is high enough that an adult can “crab walk” underneath. And yes, there was about 3-4 inches of standing water on the bottom. However, 10 years ago when we had a similar problem, the plumber put on his overalls, put on his knee high rain boots and was done fixing it in 15 mins. My kids and I are going on day 3 with no water and when I realized after his 2nd visit that he was not going to do anything until I had the whole thing pumped, I called another company. They were in and out, in 15 mins had the pipe fixed. I still had a good 2 inches of water where the pipe was at but the guy said it didn’t matter...he is a plumber and that sort of thing is to be expected from time to time, and came prepared with all of his equipment. I’m gonna five Glover’s a bone here and say that maybe they don’t work much, if ever, underneath houses. Which is to me silly because it’s all plumbing. Because the man from Glover’s didn’t even know that the wires hanging down in the water under the house were cable wires. He said it was an electrical hazard. Note: there were no electrical wires hanging down. Another thing this other company chuckled about and said all houses on slabs have those and it’s no big deal. So. I feel as if the man I got was not knowledgeable or had the proper equipment to fix my problem-a busted pipe under the house. He wasted my time coming out, because calling someone else at 2 in the afternoon is a joke. That translated into a me going another day without help. And then he tried to tell me he’d be out the next day and if I called anyone else, they’d charge me an arm and a leg just for going in with water at the bottom. To which the man who DID fix my pipes laughed and said that’s part of the job...plumbers shouldn’t be charging you to fix a pipe because there’s water they have to work around. All I got were excuses why he couldn’t do the job and how lucky I was to have him because he’d be cheaper. I need water...all this guy did was make me not care how much I’d spend on a person who’d do their job. I’m glad that there are others with great experiences with this company. But I decided that a company, with an actual website, that lists their accomplishments, what type of work they do and has enough people to come out within a few hours is what I’ll be looking for from now on.
