Great place to have some fun and great food come see for yourself
The Cumberland County Fair has gone down over the years with last year being the worst. First we went opening weekend and as you can see from one of my pics they had a roller coaster there but the state didn't inspect it (or pass it) so it was down. The kamikaze ride was down as well, virtually every big ride was down. I talked to the general manager and he said it was the state's fault not the company, either way I paid for half a park. There were other stuff to do like ride a monster truck or a WW2 tank but those cost extra money.
The biggest rip off came from the concessions, at the entrance they sell you a ten dollar cup that gets refills for a dollar, I bought one but was out of luck an hour later. They set aside 2 liter drinks at each concession at the Fair once those drinks are gone you have to pay vendor prices. Water was my biggest concern they charge 2 buck for the really small water bottles not the 20oz ones, I think its 16 or 12oz. Also there were no benches or shade set up for anyone to take a break. The Ft Bragg fairground always has better prices, service, and quality when the fair comes to town I strongly recommend going to that one compared to Cumberland County. I will try the 2013 this year to see if its any better.
After looking at the price structure this year it looks like I will not be going, Fri-Sun has prices that are 5 dollars at the gate and 20 bucks for the wristbands a total of 25 per person. I strongly believe this was an attempt to gouge the military community. Every year before now you were able to buy tickets at a discounted price before the fair started they completely eliminated that for the weekends. I ask you not to support any venue that rips off our active and retired veterans.
Had fun not to big not to small

New to the area. Came on the last weekend (9/17/16). It opened at 1pm and we just happened to get here at 12:50. There was free parking. Tickets were $7 a person. They had an air conditioned inside area. Not a whole lot of venders. Then outside has a small petting zoo ($1 entry ) with kangaroos , zebra, camels etc. they had an okay selection of food. Normal fair priced. They had $20 wrist bands for unlimited rides. I think that's a pretty good deal. No major big rides since this fair moves. For the price we payed, we thought it was worth it. It does seem like SOME workers didn't want to be there but majority of them were very nice. We didn't play any games. We're from Washington and our state fair is at LEAST twice as much as this.
Thank God it was only $20. Went here because my 2 1/2 yr old never been to the fair. Was told by the people giving you wrist bands that even though he isn't 36 inches he could still ride the rides if there was an adult riding with him. Not 1 ride could he ride. $20 to look at a few chickens from a distance and to see disappointment on my son's face.
