After taking a taxi to and from work for 7 months the opportunity to get a vehicle was more than exciting and it would be something I actually wanted.....as a single mom having to tell ur kid that you can't attend their awards ceremony because we don't have a ride is hurtful to say the least...so I went to Jovans auto....The staff are all friendly even the mechanics and Jovan hell even the dog was friendly.....but I should have seen the red flags sign posted no refunds on down payment the deferred down payment issue the fact that I saw my credit app the sent to finance company which they inaccurately reported my rent the list beside office staff computer of parts to get from "junkyard." Anyhow I tried em out anyways with an 08 Acadia purple. Three days after I got it check engine light came on called Jovan who graciously sent mechanic over in the morning to put it in ODB machine... All he did was clear it and said it would be ok to drive. A few days later check engine light came on again...but supposedly vehicle just passed emissions inspection (fraudulently). So I took matters into my own hands I took vehicle to two reputable auto repair shops one in Fayetteville the other in Spring Lake. Both said same thing $1500 estimated cost to repair all transmission issues. Luckily I said something to finance company during intial contact because they allowed me to walk away from the deal with no penalties. Jovan's auto sales however offered me another car on the lot but no refund of my down payment luckily I didn't pay them all of the deferred down payment that I'm sure wasn't even reported to finance company. Two days after I had them come get vehicle I had to return to lot to get my ID and work badge and they already had truck ready to sell....Yes they do have nice vehicles but learning a $1700 lesson the hard way. Have yout vehicle inspected by your oen mechanic after a complete drive cycle. I'm lucky I wasn't stuck in a $400 car payment for the next few years with a car I can only look at.
