Douglas Real State was my previous Property Manager. I am dissatisfied with their service. very understaffed, phone calls would go unanswered for days. Email was somewhat reliable, but still, very simplistic and every time you requested information about your property (property inspection, late payments, etc.) it seemed like an inconvenience. I asked to have the yearly inspection done a couple of months early and they wanted to charge me a fee to reschedule the inspection. Also, any late fees collected were kept by the property manager.
We decided to switch companies and the difference is night and day. Calls or emails get answered within hours, friendly staff, no fee inspections (just reasonable time to schedule it), and late fees are forwarded to me.
She even provided extra advice that did not necessarily deal with the purchase of the property such as making sure I set the thermostat at a certain temperature in the winter, and other helpful tips. Like mentioned before her knowledge and explanation of the loan process, the inspection, and the appraisal was very informative and detailed.
